2. Notice at collection
We collect the categories of personal information described below. We use them only for the purposes listed, and we keep them only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes or as required by law. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
| Category | Examples | Primary purposes |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers and contact details | Name, email, phone number, mailing address | Respond to you, process job applications, operate the website |
| Job-application information | Positions, preferred store, resume, education, work history, work-authorization answers, transportation, age-band, and related notes | Evaluate candidates, contact you about roles, keep hiring records |
| Sensitive information you may provide | Criminal-history answers and notes; information about ability to perform essential job functions, which may relate to disability or health | Evaluate job-related qualifications, consider accommodations, and meet legal obligations. We do not use this information for marketing. |
| Internet and device data | IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, and similar server logs | Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website |
| Inferences | Hiring assessments drawn from information you submit | Decide whether to interview or hire |
We do not collect Social Security numbers, payment-card numbers, account passwords, precise geolocation, biometric identifiers, or children’s information through this website. KM Rewards is not yet available, so we do not currently collect loyalty-account or online-payment information.
3. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Employment applications: first, middle, and last name; phone number; email address; street address, city, state, and ZIP code; positions of interest; availability (full-time and/or part-time); preferred location; optional resume (PDF or Word); answers about transportation, whether you are 21 or older, U.S. work authorization, willingness to take a controlled-substance test, ability to perform essential job functions (and related notes), criminal convictions other than minor traffic violations (and related notes), education and experience, additional skills, current employment, and whether we may contact your current employer.
- Email: if you write to hello@kornermart.com, careers@kornermart.com, or fleet@kornermart.com, we collect the address you use and the content of your message.
- Marketing preferences: if you separately check the optional box to receive promotional emails, we record that choice. Agreeing to our Terms does not count as marketing consent.
Information collected automatically
- IP address, date and time of the request, pages or files requested, browser type, device type, and similar technical data generated when you visit the site or submit a form.
- Our hosting, font, and database providers may receive this technical data when their services load.
Information we do not currently collect on this website
- Online account credentials or payment information
- Information from advertising pixels or analytics dashboards (we do not currently run those tools on this site)
- Information from children under 13
In-store purchases, fueling, security cameras, and point-of-sale systems at KornerMart locations are separate from this website. Those systems may collect different information under store and payment-network rules.
4. How we collect it
- Forms you submit, including the employment application and resume upload.
- Email and other messages you send to us.
- Automatic collection through the website, hosting logs, and service providers that deliver the site (including our application database and Google Fonts).
- Cookies and similar technology. We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. The site may use strictly necessary cookies or local storage so pages load and forms can be submitted. Third-party services that serve fonts or host the application database may set their own cookies or receive technical data. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
- Verification sources, if you apply for a job and we proceed with hiring steps. You authorize us to verify information you provide and, where you permit it, to contact current or former employers and references. We may also use information that is publicly available or provided by background-check or work-authorization vendors if a later hiring stage requires it.
5. Why we collect it
We collect and use personal information to:
- Provide the website and the services you request, including reviewing job applications and responding to inquiries
- Contact you about roles, interviews, or follow-up questions
- Verify application information and, if hiring proceeds, complete legally required employment steps
- Consider reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act
- Keep hiring and business records and satisfy legal obligations (for example, equal-employment and recordkeeping rules)
- Protect the security and integrity of the website, including reducing spam and fraudulent submissions
- Improve the website and our hiring process
- Send promotional emails only if you give separate, optional consent. You may unsubscribe at any time
We do not use job-application information, including criminal-history or disability-related answers, for marketing or advertising.
6. Who receives it
We disclose personal information only as needed for the purposes above:
- Authorized KornerMart personnel involved in hiring, operations, or responding to your request. Access is limited to people who need it to do their jobs.
- Service providers that process information on our behalf, including our website and application-database host (currently Supabase), font delivery (Google Fonts), and content-delivery networks used to load site scripts.
- Contractors and professional advisers, such as employment counsel or accountants, when reasonably necessary.
- Background-check, drug-testing, or work-authorization vendors if a later hiring stage requires them. We will not send your application to those vendors unless we are taking that step.
- Government authorities, courts, or other parties when we believe disclosure is required by law, necessary to protect rights or safety, or related to a legal claim.
We do not currently use advertising networks, data brokers, or payment processors on this website. In-store payment processors at KornerMart locations receive payment information when you pay at a store; that is not collected through this site.
7. Whether we sell or share personal information
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use this website for targeted advertising based on your activity on other sites or apps.
If that ever changes, we will update this Policy, provide any required notice, and offer a way to opt out that is at least as easy as opting in. You may also email hello@kornermart.com to opt out of promotional emails or to ask us not to sell or share your information.
8. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including legal, accounting, and dispute-related needs. We then delete or de-identify it according to our records schedule.
| Category | Typical retention |
|---|---|
| Job applications and resumes (not hired) | 12 months from submission, unless a longer period is required by law or needed for an employment-related claim or investigation |
| Applications of people we hire | Duration of employment plus the period required by applicable employment, tax, and recordkeeping laws |
| Website and security logs | Generally up to 90 days, unless needed longer to investigate security or abuse |
| Email correspondence | As long as needed to complete the request, then according to ordinary business-records practices |
| Marketing consent and unsubscribe records | Until you unsubscribe, plus a reasonable period so we can show we honored your choice |
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. Those measures include encrypted transmission to the website, access limited to authorized personnel, and storing uploaded resumes in a private file location that is not publicly listed.
No website, database, or transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, hardware failure, or other events will never occur. Please use a personal email address you control when you apply, and do not include Social Security numbers, bank details, or other highly sensitive identifiers in a resume or application unless we specifically ask for them at a later hiring stage.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete information, subject to legal exceptions (for example, we may retain records we are required to keep)
- Receive a portable copy of information you provided to us
- Opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising (we do not currently sell or share information for those purposes)
- Limit our use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the requested service
- Withdraw marketing consent without affecting other processing
- Appeal if we decline a request
To make a request, email hello@kornermart.com or careers@kornermart.com for applicant records. Please tell us which right you want to exercise and enough information for us to find your records (such as the name and email used on an application). We may need to verify your identity before completing the request. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows it; we may still need to verify the agent’s authority and your identity.
We will not deny goods or services, charge a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised a privacy right, except as the law permits. If we deny a request, we will explain the reason and how to appeal by emailing us and writing “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line.
California residents: if KornerMart LLC is a “business” covered by the California Consumer Privacy Act, the notice at collection above describes the categories collected, the purposes, whether we sell or share, and the retention criteria. Collection, use, sharing, and retention are limited to what is reasonably necessary and proportionate for those purposes. We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
11. Children
This website is intended for a general audience and for job applicants who are legally eligible to work. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Employment of anyone under 18 is subject to verification of minimum legal age. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information to us, contact hello@kornermart.com and we will delete it.
12. International visitors
KornerMart LLC operates in Utah in the United States. This website is directed to people in the United States. If you visit or apply from the EU, UK, Canada, or elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection rules than your home country. We process that information to respond to your request or application, to operate the website, and to meet our legal obligations. If you do not want your information transferred to the United States, please do not submit the application form.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make a material change — for example, if we start selling personal information, using it for targeted advertising, or collecting new sensitive categories — we will post the updated Policy on this page and, where required, provide additional notice (such as a notice on the website or an email if we have your address for that purpose). Continued use of the website after the effective date means the updated Policy applies to information collected after that date.

Our Terms & Conditions govern use of this website. This Privacy Policy governs how we handle personal information.
This Policy describes KornerMart LLC’s current practices. It is not legal advice. Have a qualified privacy attorney review it — especially because this site collects employment, criminal-history, and disability-related information from job applicants. If our written promises ever differ from what we actually do, the actual practice must be corrected or this Policy must be updated.
